Real clients, real results, real feedback. Our Google Business Profile shows exactly what people experience when they train with us.

Not Another Gym.
A Real Personal Training Program.

A gym gives you access to equipment. Personal training gives you a path.

At TSquared, every session is programmed. There's no guesswork about what you're doing, why you're doing it, or whether it's working. Troy Tyrell designs each session around your current ability, your goals, and any physical limitations you're dealing with, and he's been doing exactly that for over 20 years at his downtown Vancouver studio.

This matters if you've had a knee replacement, a bad back, or a shoulder that hasn't been right since that thing you did three years ago. Troy has worked with hundreds of clients in that situation. He knows what helps and what makes it worse.

He uses the Gravity Training System as the foundation of most programs. It's a suspension-based training method that builds serious strength without the joint load you'd get from traditional weights. TSquared is the only personal training studio in downtown Vancouver using this system for every session.

Who Is Personal Training at TSquared For?

Most Vancouver gyms are designed around people who already feel good. TSquared is built for people who want to feel good again. Troy has spent 20 years working with people whose bodies have a history. Old injuries, desk jobs, surgeries, or just years of not training. People who need a program built around where they actually are right now.

Adults Over 40

You want to stay strong and mobile for the long haul. Your body doesn’t recover like it used to, and you need a program that accounts for that. His clients are mostly in their 40s, 50s, and 60s. But if you’re in your 30s and want that same level of attention and care, you’re welcome here too.

Coming Back from Injury

You need a trainer who adapts the program to your body, not the other way around. Troy modifies every exercise in real time based on what your joints and muscles can handle today, not what a generic program assumes. People recovering from injury or coming out of physio are some of his most common clients.

Women Who Want Real Strength

A low-pressure environment where you can build functional strength without feeling like you’re competing with everyone in the room. Strength training during and after menopause has strong research support, and Troy understands how to program for women at this stage of life.

Beginners and Busy Professionals

Beginners who want to start right, not start over after getting hurt. Busy professionals in Yaletown, Coal Harbour, and the West End who need efficient, results-focused sessions. Anyone who wants a trainer who actually knows their body.

Why People Choose TSquared Over Other Vancouver Gyms

  • The Equipment Is Different

Every other gym downtown uses the same free weights and machines. TSquared uses the Gravity Training System, the only studio in downtown Vancouver that does. That matters a lot if your joints need training that is actually safe.
  • Groups Are Small. Really Small

The cap is 5 people. Not 15. Not 20. Five. That means Troy can watch every single person and fix problems before they become injuries. That is simply not possible in a regular fitness class.
  • Same Trainer Every Session

You will never show up and find a substitute. Troy is there every time. After a few weeks, he knows how your left shoulder behaves on a bad day and when to push harder. That takes time to build. You cannot shortcut it.

The Gravity Training System
The Only One in Downtown Vancouver

The Gravity Training System uses your body weight as resistance. You change the angle of your body to make exercises easier or harder. No heavy barbells. No machines that grind your joints.

It is made by Total Gym and used in hospitals and rehab clinics around the world. Troy has trained people on it for years. He knows exactly how to use it for bad knees, hip replacements, shoulder problems, and lower back pain.

You will not find it at any other personal training studio in downtown Vancouver.

What it does for you:

  • Builds strength without loading your joints
  • Works your whole body in one session
  • Adjusts to where you are, not where you were 10 years ago
  • Safe for people who have had surgery or chronic pain
  • Improves posture, balance, and core stability

According to research supported by the Mayo Clinic, low-impact strength training is one of the most effective and sustainable approaches for adults managing joint health and long-term mobility.

Personal Training Services Designed for Real Life

Every program at TSquared is real personal training, not a drop-in class with a different trainer every week. We offer a comprehensive range of options designed to meet you exactly where you are.

One-on-One and Small Group Options

For the most focused training experience, our one-on-one training in Vancouver gives you Troy's complete attention. Just you and him, in a private studio, with every minute dedicated to what your body actually needs. There are no other clients in the room, no one waiting for equipment, and no distractions. Troy watches every rep and adjusts in real time—the angle, the speed, the load, the cue.If you want the benefits of personal coaching in a small group setting, we also offer small group personal training with a maximum of 5 people per session, ensuring you still get the individual attention you need.

Age-Appropriate Programming

We understand that different stages of life require different approaches. Our personal training for adults over 40 in Vancouver is specifically designed for your body after 40. Recovery takes longer. Joints need more care. Hormones shift. Troy doesn't apply the same program he would use for a 25-year-old. He builds everything around where you are right now, your current strength, your injury history, and your lifestyle. For clients 60 and over, our seniors personal training in Vancouver focuses on what matters most at this stage: staying capable. Carrying groceries without straining. Getting up from the floor if you need to. Feeling steady and strong rather than fragile. The Gravity Training System is ideal here because it starts as easy as you need it to be.

For Busy Professionals

If keeping training consistent alongside a demanding schedule is the challenge, our personal training for busy professionals in Vancouver is the solution. The studio is at 180 W Georgia, walkable from offices in Gastown, Coal Harbour, and the Financial District. Sessions start exactly when they're booked and end on time. No waiting. No chatting. Just focused work. Most professional clients come in before work or over lunch, and Troy programs sessions to deliver the most benefit in the time available.

Building Functional Strength

Strength training doesn't have to mean loading up a barbell and grinding through heavy lifts. Our strength training in Vancouver builds real, functional strength—the kind that carries over into everyday life. Getting up from a chair. Carrying bags. Climbing stairs without grabbing the railing. That's what strength training is for at this stage of life. The Gravity System works your muscles through full ranges of motion without loading your spine or compressing your joints.

Mobility and Flexibility Focus

Most adults over 40 have more mobility restrictions than they realize. Years of sitting, old injuries, and repetitive movement patterns all add up. Our mobility and flexibility training in Vancouver changes that. Better range of motion means less pain, fewer compensations, and a body that moves the way it's supposed to. It also makes every other thing you do feel easier, including training, walking, and sleeping. Troy programs mobility work as part of every session, not as an afterthought.

Low Impact Training for Joint Health

Low impact doesn't mean low results. It means training that works with your body rather than grinding against it. Our low impact training in Vancouver is ideal for people managing arthritis, joint replacements, or chronic pain. The Gravity System is inherently low impact because it uses body-weight resistance on a sliding board—there's no jarring, no heavy load on the joints, and no moment where something can go wrong quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions About
Personal Training at TSquared

Is TSquared right for beginners?

Yes. Most people who start here have not trained in a while, or have never worked with a real coach before. Troy starts from scratch with every new client. The Gravity System is adjustable enough that almost anyone can use it from day one.

What is the difference between personal training and a fitness class?

Personal training is customized to you. A typical Vancouver fitness class has 15 to 25 people. When there are only 5 of you, Troy can watch every movement and correct every mistake. In a class of 20, that is simply not possible. You get the energy of training with others, without being ignored.

Is TSquared easy to get to by SkyTrain?

Yes. Stadium-Chinatown Station is a 7-minute walk from the studio at 180 W Georgia. Waterfront Station is 12 minutes. Both the Expo Line and the Millennium Line serve Stadium-Chinatown, so most of Metro Vancouver is within reach without a car.

Do you work with women over 40?

Yes. A big part of TSquared's client base is women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s. Strength training during and after menopause has strong research support. Troy understands how to program for women at this stage of life and adjusts based on what is actually happening in your body.

Can I train here if I have a bad knee, hip, or shoulder?

That is one of the main reasons people choose TSquared. The Gravity Training System puts very little stress on your joints. Troy has worked with clients after knee replacements, hip replacements, rotator cuff repairs, and spinal surgeries. He also works alongside physiotherapists for clients still in recovery.

How long until I see results?

Most people notice something in the first 4 to 6 weeks. Not dramatic before-and-after stuff. More like your posture is better, your back feels looser, and everyday things feel a bit easier. The bigger changes come at the 3-month mark if you are training consistently.

What happens at my first session?

You come in, meet Troy, and actually train. He will ask a few quick questions about your history and goals. Then you get on the Gravity System and go through a real workout. The whole thing takes about 45 to 60 minutes. You are not signing anything. There is no commitment.

How much does personal training cost in Vancouver?

Personal training in Vancouver typically costs between $80 and $180 per session. At TSquared, pricing reflects Troy's 20+ years of specialist experience and the small-group format. Call (604) 250-9784 or book a free first session to ask about current rates.
